Newaygo Lions Season Comes to an End Against Reed City

Newaygo Lions Varsity couldn’t keep up with Reed City and fell 5-1 on Saturday.

Straub earned the win for Reed City. He threw five and a third innings, giving up one run, three hits, striking out six, and walking zero. Jarrod Heideman took the loss for Newaygo Lions Varsity. He pitched three innings, giving up five runs, three hits, and striking out two.

Hunter Lay went 1-for-3 at the plate as he led the team with one run batted in.

Morrison went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Reed City in hits.

“We had one bad inning where Reed City scored 4 runs on a couple of our mistakes. We had a good run with a very young team starting only one senior.   We expect to contend next year both in league and the State Playoffs.”~Coach Bomay
